Michael Pomerleau

Michael is a fine artist and designer living and working in Seattle, Washington. His practice moves between painting, sculpture, and design, held together by a shared instinct for how things feel before they are finished.

His landscape works, collectively titled "Places," are rooted in the plein-air tradition, beginning large-scale paintings on location in direct response to the land and the life within it. Each painting carries its date, location, coordinates, and vantage point as part of the work itself. The same eye that reads a landscape informs everything else.

Beyond "Places," his work includes "People" and "Things." Figures caught in the activities that hold them. Objects observed across still life, sculpture, and abstract expressionism. What runs beneath all of it is a single preoccupation: the feeling of a person or an object as it exists in space and time. Not catalogued. Not perfected. Simply noticed, and held.

Michael is genuinely humbled and awed by the world. Fine art is simply his way of saying, look at this. Come see what I saw.

That sensibility has quietly shaped a parallel career building and leading creative teams across brand, marketing, packaging, and experiential design, including a long tenure at Amazon Web Services producing work for executive audiences at some of the world's most coveted spaces. His commercial work and studio practice have always informed one another, each sharpening the other's instincts.
